Melissa Benoist and Tyler Hoechlin Talk About “Supergirl” Season 2 Finale

The recent “upfronts” held by The CW to announce their fall TV schedule also saw a number of interviews with cast members of their TV shows, with “Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist talking to ComicBook.com about this week’s Season Finale, “I think it’s a huge finale, and there’s a lot going on, and I think people will go on an emotional roller coaster with Kara, so I’m sorry to all the fans in advance.”

And she said that even after a season that has featured Dean Cain, Terry Hatcher, multiple hat tips to the Legion of Super-Heroes, and a full-on Daxamite invasion, she’s certain that season three will only get bigger.

“Every time I get a script, I’m like, ‘There’s no way we’re going to top what we just did.’ And then I read the new script and I’m like, ‘how are we  going to do this?’ And somehow we do,” Benoist said. “So I think we’ll only just keep getting bigger and bigger. The scope of this world is so massive that we can’t go back.”

As for why Supergirl and Superman fight in the Season 2 finale, Tyler Hoechlin told EW.com, “Any time you find yourself squaring off against someone that’s family, it takes on a little bit more of a toll. But that’s something you’re going to have to wait and see to find out; it’s a little more complicated than it appears.”

Titled “Nevertheless, She Persisted”, this episode is scheduled to air on The CW in the USA on Monday, May 22 at 8.00pm ET/PT.
