Marvel and DC Unite: Spider-Man and Superman Swing Into Historic Crossover Event

Spider-Man/Superman #1

Industry titans join forces for Marvel’s “Spider-Man/Superman #1”, arriving this April, following DC’s “Superman/Spider-Man #1” in March.

In what marks one of the most anticipated comic book events in recent memory, Marvel and DC are joining forces to bring fans “Spider-Man/Superman” #1, an all-new crossover one-shot featuring an all-star lineup of creative talent.

The special issue assembles some of the industry’s most celebrated writers and artists, including Brad Meltzer, Pepe Larraz, Brian Michael Bendis, Geoff Johns, Jason Aaron, and Russell Dauterman, among many others.

What’s Inside

The oversized one-shot delivers multiple stories spanning different eras and incarnations of both iconic heroes:

A Noir Beginning: Dan Slott and Marcos Martin transport readers to the shadow-laden 1930s, where Spider-Man Noir crosses paths with the original Golden Age Superman in what promises to be a period piece unlike any other superhero tale.

War Comes to Metropolis: Jason Aaron reunites with artist Russell Dauterman for an epic story that sees symbiote hordes invading Metropolis, igniting a new War of the Realms. The tale features Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor alongside Wonder Woman in a cross-publisher team-up that fans have dreamed about for decades.

Miles Meets Clark: Spider-Man Miles Morales gets his moment with the Man of Steel in a story crafted by Miles’ legendary co-creators Brian Michael Bendis (making his grand return to Marvel) and Sara Pichelli.

Villains United: Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz pit the two heroes against a nightmare scenario where Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn join forces, exploiting the greatest weaknesses of both Spider-Man and Superman.

Family Crisis: In what marks his first Marvel story in over 20 years, industry powerhouse Geoff Johns teams with fellow superstar Gary Frank to bring the Super- and Spider-families into conflict at the summons of Mysterio. But as the solicitation hints, their true foe may be an ally spiraling out of control.

Campus Crossover: Current “Amazing Spider-Man” scribe Joe Kelly and artist Humberto Ramos deliver a lighter tale featuring Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang in a campus setting.

Steel vs. Hobgoblin: Rounding out the collection, “Steel” co-creator Louise Simonson and artist Todd Nauck craft a showdown between John Henry Irons and the Hobgoblin.

The issue boasts an impressive roster of cover artists including Pepe Larraz, Marcos Martin, Russell Dauterman, Walter Simonson, Sara Pichelli, Kaare Andrews, Peach Momoko, Ryan Stegman, Jerome Opeña, Greg Capullo, Erik Larsen, and Mark Bagley.
