The 1990s TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” arrived on HBO Max yesterday, and is available for the first time in High Definition (HD).
HBO Max subscribers can watch all four seasons of the TV series, that’s 88 episodes in all, of the TV series, which ran from 1993 until 1997.
Starring Dean Cain as Clark Kent/Superman and Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” focused more on the relationship between the pair than the superheroics of the Man of Steel.
Oh good, finally it’s in HD. Now drop it on Netflix for the regions that don’t have HBO Max. Or, you know, make HBO Max available worldwide. Either way, do something.
I was looking at some of the episodes and it’s amazing to see how many different capes that Dean Cain wore in his time as Superman. If I remember correctly, they went through various capes becouse they had trouble getting a design that they liked. Of course I could be wrong about that info.
After the pilot they did one where he had a HUGE open collar and tried to give him a style of attachment where ends of the cape look squared off. Basically a really janky looking way of trying to duplicate how the cape looks in the comics. The shield was practically on his stomach instead of his upper chest.
They went back to the more Reeve style tucked-in look but kept the large shield with the really goofy styled S. They refined it a bit over the years but he always had that home ec belt.
