Lex Luthor Falls in Love in Season 6 of “Supergirl”

Jon Cryer is returning as Lex Luthor for upcoming episodes of the sixth and final season of “Supergirl”… and he’s going to fall in love.

In an interview with EW.com, co-showrunner Jessica Queller reveals, “Lex is not only returning, but he’s finally going to fall in love with a character who is his equal, who might be named Nyxly.”

If you haven’t been watching “Supergirl” this season, Nyxly is the fifth dimensional imp (played by Peta Sergeant) who is causing quite a bit of trouble for Supergirl and her friends, having recent escaped from the Phantom Zone.

Lex Luthor, on the other hand, hasn’t been seen since the beginning of this season, when the “Super Friends” wiped his memory of Supergirl’s secret identity.

“They’re just deliciously evil and powerful and surprising,” says Queller of Cryer and Sergeant’s on-screen dynamic. “It’s just wonderful.”

Wait, what now? I like that Lex is back, but seriously? Why??? Ya know what? I’m not even surprised at this point. From adding in Lena becoming a witch to now this, they could even throw in Chewbacca the Wookie and I still wouldn’t be surprised. The writing has really fallen for this final season. At least Lex is back. So I’ll give them points for that. I just hope that Lex will still be around after Supergirl finishes her series so that he can be on the Superman and Lois series to face off against his true nemesis Superman.… Read more »

I hope that the last comment that I made didn’t sound too odd. I’m not rooting for the villain or anything like that, I just feel that Supergirl isn’t Lex’s arch nemesis. Superman is. Throughout most of Superman’s history, Superman and Lex have always been arch enemies. And since Supergirl is ending soon, and since Superman and Lois is still a new series, it’s only logical that Superman’s greatest foe would and should appear on his show. I think that a lot of people are expecting it to happen.
