Leaked Superman Costume Photos for “Superman and Lois”

Canadagraph has posted photos taken from the set of “Superman & Lois”, giving us our first (blurry) look at the new Superman costume for the upcoming TV series.

The costume design does appear to have removed the much maligned cape clasps.

“Superman & Lois” will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Looks like it’s based on either new 52 or rebirth design. We’ll know once we have higher resolution pics. I’m cautiously optimistic about this.

Oh, they re-designed the suit. I mean, it’s not a great redesign, but from what little we can see, it’s at least an improvement.

I hope it is based on the Reborn design. I still love that suit… and at the risk of being excommunicated from the church of Superman… I like it better than the trunks version.

Let it be clear that I hated the New-52 design and the Rebirth version with the blue boots I didn’t like too much. The Reborn suit was the perfect meeting of classic and modern.

The Reborn suit is the best suit the character has had so far. I will die on this hill.

I agree, by far his best suit. Even when I was little I thought the trunks were goofy looking

I’m liking what I see so far in the design. Looks like a cloth material instead of a leather one for the cape. If the clasps to hold it to the suit are gone, then that is a big improvement. It looks like Tyler has been working out. His muscles look bigger. I can’t wait for the official first photo release.
This is so exciting! I can’t wait to see this! This is going to be a great show to watch! 😀

I’d like to see the classic trunks, but it looks decent. I didn’t *hate* his previous suit, but it screamed Jon Peters’ style (if you know what I mean).

I know many don’t agree which is fine but Love Love the new suit reminds me of The comics DC Rebirth Superman Rebirth / Reborn suit !!! Hopefully we will get an official look soon from The CW !!! Don’t know why they The CW is waiting to revile the new suit. Maybe they are waiting for the other CW DCTV Shows to film 1st? Should of gotten a official look at Tyler’s new Superman suit by now.

Waiting for more hi-res pics…but without the clasps…is a vast improvement…makes it more old school.

It’s blurtastic, but the belt, and maybe the boots, are different from what he’s worn before.

IMO if we gotta deal with the trunks being treated as persona non grata despite the fact they serve a very clear color design function, the Reborn look is the best compromise. I’ll gladly take it over his popcollar armor from New 52, having him a t-shirt and jeans, or other such nonsense. The Snyder costume I can like when it’s allowed to actually have colors but Snyders total obsession with filters and desaturation usually prevents that. The Smallville Season II comic also had a trunkless costume that didn’t look bad when it was drawn well. But at the end… Read more »

I prefer the classic look for Superman, but I do like the reborn look as well. I also like to point out that it’s very possible that this new suit won’t be the only version that we will see throughout the duration of the series. The Flash, Green Arrow, Black Lightning, and Supergirl have all had different versions of their hero suits. Some more than others. The Flash has had at least four maybe more, Black Lightning has had two I think. Maybe three. One for flashbacks on his character’s past. And the other two were from his present timeline.… Read more »
