As we reported a few weeks ago, Laurie Metcalf, best known for her roles in “Roseanne” and “The Big Bang Theory”, is scheduled to make a guest appearance on “Supergirl” as Mary McGowan, the estranged mother of Winn Schott (play by Jeremy Jordan)… and her 12-year-old daughter Mae couldn’t be happier.
“I’m so thrilled to be here on the set of Supergirl!” Metcalf tells PEOPLE. “My daughter, Mae, and I are huge fans of the show and it was her dream to meet Melissa [Benoist].”
“I’m incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to bring Mae to work with me as I take on the guest role of Mary McGowan,” says Metcalf, who is currently in Vancouver filming her role as Mary McGowan before heading back to Hollywood in time for Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, in which she’s been nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role for the film “Lady Bird”.
Laurie Metcalf is scheduled to appear in the 15th episode of Season 3 of “Supergirl”.
