Syfy has confirmed that the new “Krypton” TV Series will premiere on March 21, 2018.

The network has also released three new images, one showing Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El.
“Krypton” is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. The show follows Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather (played by Cameron Cuffe) – whose House of El was ostracized and shamed. He fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
“Krypton” is produced by Warner Horizon Television. The pilot is written by David Goyer (Man of Steel) with Ian Goldberg (Once Upon A Time, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Goyer also acts as executive produce through his company Phantom Four with Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow), who serves as showrunner. Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) directed the pilot.
The cast includes: Cameron Cuffe (The Halcyon) as Seg-El, Georgina Campbell (After Hours) as Lyta Zod, Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones) as Val-El, Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Daron Vex, Ann Ogbomo (Wonder Woman) as Primus Alura Zod, Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness) as Kem, Wallis Day (The Royals) as Nyssa Vex and Aaron Pierre (Britannia) as Dev-Em.
I’m guessing the actor wearing the red cape is superman’s great great grandfather and the other two are his great grandparents.As interesting as this series looks, I believe I’m not alone in saying that we should have a Superman tv series that’s about Superman.
We want Man of Steel 2… not this.
Whatever proves the Superman mythos has potential for great stories is always good in my book.
Oh, I think there’s plenty of room for both, don’t you think? Plus, even DC Comics has never really gone that far back with Kal’s ancestors other than a silver era story or two. Besides, this is a TV series production not a feature length movie. Let’s have both!

I find it a bit amusing…for the fact that Seg-El is wearing a modern day leather jacket and cargo jeans instead of a science fictional garb. I’m looking forward to see this.
