“Krypton” Pilot Earns SYFY’s Highest Ratings in Four Years

The Pilot episode of “Krypton” scored big ratings for SYFY, with the network’s Live-plus-3-day ratings indicating that the show’s premiere was watched by an audience of over 2.5 million people, marking the network’s biggest premiere since “Ascension” in 2014.

The March 21 debut was the top-rated scripted entertainment program for the night, according to a statement from the network, and beat out all other cable shows, as well as The CW’s hit “Riverdale”, which aired earlier that night on the broadcast network.

The series was also the best genre series premiere on cable since the pilot for “Legion” on FX last February.

The second episode of the series, titled “House of El”, is scheduled to air on SYFY in the USA on Wednesday, March 28 at 10.00pm ET & PT/9.00pm CT.

I have to be honest, I went into this thinking I was going to hate it, but it wasn’t bad at all. As long as it doesn’t try to tie into the current DC version or the Donner version and tries to stand on its own I think it will be decent.

It’s not perfect by any means and I found it odd that characters were speaking like just your typical American young adult (being as this is supposed to be an alien planet), but it had enough in it to get me intrigued to continue on.

It already has tied into the DC movies (MOS) universe with the Kryptonian’s gestation chambers & pre-determined genetic manipulation of it’s blood lines/progeny

While it started out that way, I read recently that their going to try and disconnect from man of steel and forge their own path, which I think is an excellent idea. I believe the first thing they did as a Change was make a more traditional ‘S’ symbol.

Maybe. Either way, the show has a lot of potential. Personally I hope they don’t distance itself away too much as it may confuse some audience why certain things may be too different and detract away from ratings

Just watched it on Vudu. Definitely entertaining. Glad to hear that a lot of people watched the pilot episode. Will no doubt continue to watch it.
