Well the question is if he is in a Black Recovery Suit how does he get in it, who gets him in it and how long is he in it? If Superman does in fact become a puppet of Darkseid via Steppenwolf, that would explain it to an extent, but why would they put him in a black Superman suit? Is it hard to imagine Bruce realising Clark is showing signs of life creates a solar suit to help him recover and sticks an S on said suit for good measure, meanwhile knowing Superman is recovering he still gathers the others as a new threat is looming large, he doesn’t think Kal will be ready to fight and keeps all this knowledge to himself?? Either Lois or Lex should be behind Superman’s revival. Lex says he was mind controlled by an alien entity, and to clear his name, says he can help resurrect Superman with the scout ship. In any case, I’m all for the black suit. It’s a iconic feature of this storyline.
