June 30, 2016: Marvel Fires Shots at “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”

SpiderManDeadpool6Marvel has fired shots at “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” within the pages of Spider-Man/Deadpool #6.

Written by Scott Aukerman with art by Reilly Brown, the comic book displays a movie poster using Marvel characters Hyperion and Nighthawk (who are that company’s analogues of Superman and Batman). The title of the poster is “Nighthawk v Hyperion: Yawn of Boredom”, with promotional text stating, “You won’t believe their mothers share a first name”.

Deadpool and Spider-Man, exiting the theater, discuss the film, with Deadpool stating, “None of that made sense. Why were they fighting one minute, then best friends the next?”. Spider-Man responds, “And don’t worry about scenes that set up the next eight movies – just make this one satisfying!”
