Voted excellent, but I do have one minor beef with it that I hope you will consider for future updates: navigating through older news pieces to keep up with comments is a little too complicated. The categorization of the pieces (movie news, comics news etc) is fine, but considering the volume of news pieces that go up on the site on a daily basis, older ones get pushed off the main page way too fast. Please consider adding a slider bar or a “next” button that loads older stories in the front-page categories for easier navigation.

I voted excellent. But I noticed the smileys and website themes are missing. It would be great if they are added back. Also I remember there was a page focusing on the history of this website, what happened to it?

My only real problem with it right now is that I can’t seem to get any of the buttons in the tool-bar for doing quotes or bold print etc. to work. As for quibbles with the layout well Steve’s a web-designer by trade and he’s also the one that pays the bills on this baby (not to mention having the patience of Buddha when it comes to how passionate we can be in our views.) so it’s his site at the end of the day and besides it’s all still pretty user-friendly IMO.

While it’s a shame that people aren’t able to switch back to their preferred theme/layout as they have in the past, people need to remember that while this is a site run by Superman fans, Steve is a professional when it comes to web design and the like. He knows what he’s doing, and that’s improving the experience for all who visit his site.

I tend to check the front page each evening on my iPad, and I’ve found that it’s much easier to navigate on a table than the old site was.

Being professional doesn’t mean doing your job always perfectly. It is extremely organized and too much organization tends to make many things too difficult to find. And like you said this kind of layout is quite good for a tablet, but there is already an app for mobile/tablets. Microsoft did the same in Windows 8, and found that even after 3 years of it desktop users didn’t like it because it made things harder and thus took much more time to find things, so they had to switch back in Win 10. So, like I said, tablets have their own… Read more »

I voted bad, only because I preferred seeing all the items on one page rather then clicking different links, and I’m not to good with tech as it is, but have to say I’m getting used to it now.

Also, find it strange that 258 voted EXCELLENT, 245 voted GOOD, but only 22 voted VERY GOOD.

I voted bad. This new interface is much much cleaner, that’s true. However for people that visit it each few days it is good. For people that just connect once per week or so it is too hard to find the oldest news they watched. The previous layout was easier as you just needed to go back until you found the last post you read (something like facebook) and just go reading until the last one. Now you have to switch between post-home-post-home. Formerly you had a piece of post that allowed you to read part of it and decide… Read more »

If you click on the section headers you see all the news. It’s less clutter and was needed. Like anything new it will take some time. I remember the last major update when the themes were changed and people lost their shit. Lol. But you make a good point about not seeing all the items. So I’ll see if Steve can maybe add (click section header to see additional news items). As I’m not a web designer I have no idea if it’s possible. But I very much like the new design. I had a month to practice on it… Read more »

Don’t get me wrong. I like the new design too, mostly when I’m reading. It is so clean that I could keep reading for hours without my eyes getting tired. Also the headers are great too. But like you said, it took you a month…A MONTH!!! to get used to it. Imagine for people that come here just once or twice a week or even less… But the most important thing is that the team keeps triying to improve the page, sometimes it’s better, sometimes not so good. A small side bar with direct access to things would be good,… Read more »
