Attending this past weekend’s SXSW convention, Jesse Eisenberg sat down for an interview with Variety, where they asked him about his role as Lex Luthor in “Justice League”, and whether he’d be returning to the role in any future films. Here’s what he had to say…
Are you going to reprise your role as Lux Luthor in another “Superman” film?
I hope so. I mean, I have no idea is the truth. I love playing the character. Probably in terms of movie acting, it’s the most enjoyable character I’ve had the opportunity to play. So I would love to do it again. But I don’t know what their slate is. If you have any pull, please use it.
Were you supposed to have a bigger role in “Justice League?”
No. I was in it after the credits.
There was speculation online that they cut some of your other scenes.
No, no. Actually, on the contrary, they added some stuff.
Would you like to see Jesse Eisenberg return to the role in a future film? Perhaps “Man of Steel 2”?
No thanks
Seconded times 1000.
I agree. No thank you.
So he is Lux Luthor…Not the original Lex. I knew it. When will the clone saga begin!?
I would like to see Lex Luthor senior instead please.
He was already in Man Of Steel 2. It was called ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.
I thought he was named Alexader Luthor Jr. Was I mistaken? It’s been a while since I’ve seen the film so I could be wrong on his name.
*Gives out The Finger*
He was more Lex Luthor in those 20 seconds of JL than he was the entirety of BvS. He’s never been my choice to play him, but bring in a great director who can wrangle in his eccentricities and it might be salvageable. If he can play against type, he might actually be good. I really wish they’d get it together and announce a sequel soon. #justiceforsuperman
