Jared Leto’s Joker to Appear in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League”

Joker

The Hollywood Reporter has discovered that Jared Leto’s version of The Joker will appear in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League”, with the actor participating in additional photography shooting, reprising the role he played in 2016’s “Suicide Squad.”

Late last month it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and other cast members were set to film new scenes for Zack Snyder’s version of “Justice League” in October.

Set to premiere on HBO Max in 2021, the new round of shooting is designed to complete many unfinished scenes to enable Snyder to turn his vision into a four-episode event series.

Interestingly, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, who received producer credits in the theatrical cut of “Justice League,” will no longer have their names included in the credits for what is officially now known as “Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League'”.

Because we need more of that…

I liked his version. I was hoping to see more of it in SS.

We didn’t see enough of Leto’s Joker in ‘Suicide Squad’ to make a judgement on his performance. Everyone just piled on because he wasn’t Heath Ledger … and because his “edgelord” look was so radically different from Ledger’s grimy, gritty version. And that stupid, stupid ‘Damaged’ tattoo on his forehead – that really didn’t help. But the costume and make-up design was not Leto’s fault, and honestly, I AM curious to see what he actually would have done with that character if he’d been given the chance. So, sure. I’m on board with this.

Honestly, the movie would have been better if instead of the Ghostbusters rip off of a third act, the plot had been focusing on a prisoner transfer of the Joker from Blackgate Prison back to Arkham and the Suicide Squad has to take him out. Much more focused, and gives Harley more of a complex arc as the audience wonders if she will betray the squad or stay with the her Puddin.

I think he falls in line with Zack’s direction. Are we supposed to get the same old Joker we’ve seen over the last 30 years or a new tweaked version? I thought there was just enough of his character in SS as well.

I didn’t see enough of him in that sucktacular so-called film, but I liked where he took it. Glad he’s getting some due. All that time, effort, and passion he put into the role and those WB lame-os butchered it as well as other parts of the film. That said, I bet we’ll get to see him face off against Batfleck in flashback or maybe, just maybe, through Barry’s time travel, we see another Injustice-type world where Leto’s Joker leads Henry’s Superman down his dark path via the death of Amy’s Lois. The possibilities are endless, especially under Snyder’s vision.… Read more »

Batfleck???? Not sure what that’s supposed to stand for. I didn’t find SS to be anywhere near your description. While no where near MoS, I found it was still watchable.

Lol, where you been, man? That’s the name we’ve been giving to Ben Affleck’s Batman pretty much since he was cast. Everyone calls him that. Well, almost everyone. Suicide Squad had its moments, but to be honest, I sensed that it was supposed to be a very different film. Turns out I was right. David Ayer was forced to throw a curveball and say he enjoyed the final product of the film. But, having been inspired by the Snydercut movement, he found the courage to step forward and admitted that he made SS a “soulful drama” before it was “beaten… Read more »

I didn’t get a comedic feel from SS. Couple of chuckles here and there but over all I though it was pretty good. I’d give it a “7” grade.

And I’ll take BA’s Batman anytime !! Looking forward to it in Zack’s JL. Not the watered down version that JW presented us with.

Oh, man. Lol, Redcape, please don’t mention that. I still have nightmares about almost everything about that Frankenstein abomination that nameless fellow dared to release in theaters.

Yep. Totally agree. Can’t wait for Batfleck in the REAL JL!

In a film called Justice League that, for me, didn’t have enough Superman in it, the last thing I ever thought it needed was Jared’s Joker added into the mix. Was in no way, shape or form a fan. I don’t think he ever suited being the Joker to Ben’s Batman. We’ve heard Henry Cavill won’t be filming any more scenes, so all extra material we’ll get of Superman is apparently already in the can. I’m not all that interested nor offended by this whole Snyder Cut anyway. I was really never for nor against it. I wouldn’t have blinked… Read more »

I’m just throwing this thought out there, but what if Zack is going for a bit of the Injustice storyline approach with Jared’s Joker? It might explain the Flash time traveling to BVS time line to warn Bruce if Lois died because of the Joker. Superman would blame Batman because he didn’t stop the Joker. And because of that resentment, Superman turns bad and starts his regime as depicted in Bruce’s dream. Maybe he even allies himself with Darkside because of it. Maybe we will find out what happened to Robin as well. Personally, I hope that’s not the case.… Read more »

I suppose there’s many story lines that could be tied into it. Zack could also end his JL with an ending leading into an HBO MAX JL series as well. But I think we’re going to see a couple of things that people are going to either except or hate. First, the black suit. Might see him in that for considerable time after he’s brought back. Second, his mind set might be in a totally different place. So he just might be manipulated into something unfamiliar. One of the stupidest scenes in the JL we got was of him and… Read more »

I guess we’ll just have to wait until 2021 to find out more. I’m not sure what Zack is planning for his film.
