Beyond the performances, “Superman” garnered technical nominations for Best Film Visual/Special Effects, Best Film Production Design, and Best Film Costume Design, highlighting the production’s ambitious scope and attention to detail. James Gunn himself is in the running for Best Film Direction.

The Saturn Awards, which celebrate the best in science fiction, fantasy, and horror entertainment, will be presented live on Sunday, March 8, from the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, with Joel McHale returning as host.

With eight nominations total, “Superman” will face stiff competition from other genre heavyweights like “Avatar: Fire and Ash”, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, and “Wicked: For Good” when winners are announced next month.
