In our latest Superman Poll we asked you the following question:
Which live-action Superman movies have you seen in a movie theatre?
The results paint a fascinating picture of Superman’s cinematic journey across nearly five decades and reveal the age demographics of Superman fans who participated.
Leading the pack with 94 votes (16%) is “Superman (2025)”, the newest entry in the Man of Steel’s film legacy. Close behind are the DCEU entries: “Man of Steel” garnered 92 votes (15%), while both “Superman Returns” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” tied at 82 votes each (14%). “Justice League” follows with 76 votes (13%). These modern films clearly benefited from wide theatrical releases and drew audiences who grew up in the 2000s and 2010s.
Perhaps most intriguing is the performance of the original Christopher Reeve films. “Superman: The Movie” (1978) received 61 votes (10%), while “Superman II” collected 40 votes (7%), and “Superman III” brought up the rear with 37 votes (6%).
While the original Reeve films are beloved classics, most of you weren’t old enough—or even born yet—to experience them during their original theatrical runs.
