Eddie's Answers

Louis Girten (GrimCreeper187@aol.com) asks:
Has superman (over time) developed somewhat of a resistance to Kryptonite? Does it affect him like it used to?

Eddie: No, he's still very vulnerable to it. We just don't use it as much.

Lawrence N Masucci II (Superman-32@juno.com) asks:
The guys where I work make fun of Superman (and How I love my hero). I told them that Superman is the Greatest Superhero and he can take on anyone and beat any foe. So they asked if Superman could beat Rouge of the X-men since her power is that she can absorbs others powers or energy. I told them that Superman would not be affected since he is a Kryptonian and he would kick ***! So they made me submit this question to make sure I was not being one sided. Am I right or do I have to eat crow?

Eddie: Rogue would have to get the drop on Superman and his abilities have grown over time, so to suddenly have all his powers would overwhelm her. He really wouldn't have to raise a hand against her.

David Schock (david1313@peoplepc.com) asks:
Will we ever get to visit Hypertime again and see what happens to young Jonathan and his parents (Clark and Diana) from The Kingdom series?

Eddie: Nothing planned on my end.

rc (richcapo@yahoo.com) asks:
My question concerns Superman's code against killing. It seems odd that this code is absolute. He has been, wholly or partially, responsible for killing Doomsday twice. He killed those three Kryptonians, and asserted to the Spectre that he would do so again in the World War III trade paperback. Furthermore, the fate suffered by Brainiac 13 and Imperiex at OWaW's conclusion sounded, at best, like a euphemism for death -- seems inarguably synonymous with death given the terms "demise," "destruction" and "resurrection" have been applied to B13 and or Imperiex in subsequent DC stories. Bottom line: Superman is not a murderer. Neither is he one prone to default to killing in a pinch. But, when the chips are down... he has killed and has said he would again, if absolutely necessary. What's the official take on his code against killing?

Eddie: Basically, he won't kill. Except for the Kryptonians, the other instances did allow for second chances.

Brian Holbrook (BAHolbrookX@aol.com) asks:
Hi Eddie! I have been hearing rumors of a new revamp for the DC Universe, i.e. a new Crisis, or Zero Hour taking place again in the near future. Is this true? I also wondered if the above mentioned happens will DC use SMALLVILLE as its point of origin for Superman including the new characters such as Chloe?

Eddie: Smallville as the TV show will exist as its own comic continuity. This was so in the past with the old Superboy TV show and comic.

But you will be seeing more of Lana Lang in the comic. Look to the December on sale titles.

Grant G. (grantg81@aol.com) asks:
Hey Eddie, I have a question about Superman's invulnerability, some say that Superman's invulnerability comes from the aura that surrounds his body, I say that is the reason why his suit doesn't tear and he has a dense cellular structure which makes him truely invulnerable, so my question is what accounts for a larger percentage of his invulnerability his cell structure or his psionic force field? Also what accounts for more of his strength? Because I was under the impression that all his psionics do is make him able to hold large things together.

Eddie: The aura is what makes him invulnerable. The yellow sun allows him to have the strength to do what he does.

Ed Jacobson (jacobson_ed@hotmail.com) asks:
People are arguing about the power relationship between Darkseid and Superman as portrayed in OWAW. Were Darkseid's Omegas at full power in "Adventures of Superman #595"? And was Superman not at 100% when Darkseid easily defeated him in volume one of OWAW? Thanks Eddie, this will help settle a big debate.

Eddie: Look for the rematch in SUPERMAN vs. DARKSEID APOKOLIPS NOW! on sale this January it's written by Mark Schultz with art by Mike McKone. It's a killer of a conflict that settles the score once and for all!

rc (richcapo@yahoo.com) asks:
With the events of Return to Krypton I and II, as well as your replies on this forum, it has been codified that -- rather than draining his power -- red solar energy "barely feeds" Superman, as it is the energy of a 'dying star.' My question is this: were a normally-powered Superman immersed in a red sun, would his powers increase, however marginally? My guess is that immersion within a red star would increase Superman's powers beyond the level he demonstrates within Earth's atmosphere; but would amount to an increase that is FAR less than what is garnered via immersion in a yellow sun a la Our Worlds at War. Given that you have stated here that red sunlight 'doesn't give Superman much power' (words to that effect)... rather than 'saps his power,' I'm guessing you'd agree with my conclusion above. 'Not much,' of course, yet being 'a little' after all.

Eddie: A red star is decaying, so there's not much energy there to derive from, so if he got any boost he would have to be flung into the core of a red star, and assuming he survives that, he might come out with some power.

Jay (ja25feb@hotmail.com) asks:
I was wondering, will we ever see General Zod fight Doomsday? Seeing as how he used Bizarro as training wouldn't it make sense for him to go after the being who 'killed' superman for some extra training?

Eddie: The big story with Zod begins this January in ACTION! And Doomsday can be seen in DAY OF DOOM (on sale now) in flashbacks and the new iproved version makes an appearance in SUPERMAN vs. DARKSEID in January.

Pick them all up!

Thanks again Eddie!!

Eddie: Happy upcoming Turkey day to all!
