While fans in the UK had to wait a long time to see the “Superman & Lois” TV series debut on their screens, the wait seems to have generated a lot of interest, with the premiere on BBC One generating huge ratings.
According to figures released by the UK network, the pilot episode brought in a huge 19.5% of the audience for its time slot, easily winning the hour.
It is reported that 2.7 million viewers watched the premiere of “Superman & Lois,” which eclipses the 1.7 million figure reported for The CW’s premiere ratings in North America back in February.
Interestingly, UK fans don’t have to wait for future episodes to air on BBC One, as the complete first season is available to binge watch via the BBC iPlayer service. Many fans will no doubt continue to tune in weekly for the Saturday evening screenings, regardless.
Meanwhile, fans in the USA, Canada, Australia and other regions have just over a month to wait until “Superman & Lois” returns, with Season 2 set to premiere on The CW on Tuesday, January 11 at 8.00pm.
From my friends across the Pond, apparently Saturday evening is THE family viewing hour in the UK, so if you can win that, you’re doing pretty well.
From what I have read about Saturday night TV in the UK…it’s a BIG, BIG night. Do well there, and you have a right, old hit. 2.7 million viewers on the BBC…yes, that’s worth throwing back a pint.
I know it’s early but I’m calling it, season 3 2023! 😀
I have no doubt about it. Superman and Lois is a successful series! 🙂
They’ll probably give the green light for season three around the same time that they did for season two earlier this year I bet. 🙂
