Former Mayor of Long Beach City and self-professed comic book nerd, Robert Garcia will be sworn in to Congress, taking the oath on a classic Superman comic book.
“Will be proudly sworn-in to Congress on the U.S. Constitution,” Garcia posted on Twitter. “Underneath the Constitution will be 3 items that mean a lot to me personally. A photo of my parents who I lost to covid, my citizenship certificate & an original Superman #1 from the #LibraryCongress.”

Wouldn’t expect him or a majority of politicians to actually uphold any of the values Superman stands for, so as far as I’m concerned he probably should have left it in the library of congress.
