Earlier today The Hollywood Reporter published an article stating that Warner Bros. had parted company with Henry Cavill, and that he would not be returning to play Superman in any future films.
While Warner Bros. released a statement claiming that their relationship with Henry Cavill remained “unchanged”, Henry Cavill took to Social Media to post his own cryptic response to the reports.
“Today was exciting” he wrote, while posting a video of himself holding up a “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” Superman action figure… to the sounds of a dog barking the Blue Danube Waltz…
I kind of gather that Henry’s having a bit of fun here but I’m not sure I really get the joke. Would I be right by inferring from the humorous tone of the thing (and that he’s featuring two pieces of Superman merch) that it’s his way of saying “Everything’s fine.” ?
Yeah it seems kind of tacky for both sides to be playing this out publicly
