Henry Cavill Teases a Return as Superman

With the announcement of his nomination in the 2018 Teen Choice Awards for his role as Superman in the “Justice League” movie, Henry Cavill has taken to Instagram to post an update, sharing his excitement.

“Working on the Super Buns!,” he wrote. “Whiiiiiiich if you vote for me in the Teen Choice Awards (link in bio) and I end up winning then you may or may not see them in a tight blue outfit much sooner! But totally probably.”

Nominated in the Action Movie Actor category, Henry finds himself up against Chris Evans (“Avengers: Infinity War”), Dylan O’Brien (“Maze Runner: Death Cure”), John Boyega (“Pacific Rim: Uprising”), Tom Holland (“Avengers: Infinity War”), and Robert Downey Jr. (“Avengers: Infinity War”).

The 2018 Teen Choice Awards premieres on FOX on August 12. Vote now!

So the fate of Superman lays in the hands of a bunch of teenagers? Haha oh boy! Seriously, Henry is pretty funny. Wish they had let his personality seep through his character more.

I’d say that we’re going to see him as Superman at some stage, but is it another Superman stand alone film or cameos in Aquaman and Shazam is the big question?!

I do have a feeling that they will announce a MoS sequel soon though.

Is he saying that if he wins, he’ll show up in the Superman suit?

That’s how I would interpret that as well.
Which is a shame, I wish he could get a chance for another film.

Henry is really enjoyable as what I think Chris Reeve once called a “custodian” of the part. Just wish he’d get a script worthy of the good spirit he brings to the job.

It will be extremely disappointing if there is no announcement at Comic Con next month of a MOS sequel. It must happen. It will be a lost opportunity for WB even as they are now operating under their new overlords, AT&T.

AT&T even teased that customers should check on updates for the Snyder Cut.

I truly hope Henry will carry on the Superman Mantle for as long as he can. Any big news regarding a MOS 2 or any Superman related project is surely welcome.

AT&T is just an owner, their investment is in content for their services, not having the CEOs of a data company dictate to CEOs of a movie company. Time Warner wasn’t running WB’s movie business, WB was. So, I don’t see the AT&T board directing the Time Warner board to direct the WB board to direct Kevin Tsujihara to direct Thomas Gewecke to direct Walter Hamada to make a MoS sequel. Unless AT&T just fires everyone from Kevin Tsujihara down and puts in a new direct chain of command from AT&T directly to DC Entertainment, things are not going to… Read more »

And thank you for the insight on the situation. You seem to be well informed about it and it is truly appreciated. This is the link that I saw earlier. So please feel free to express your opinion about it.
Have a nice Sunday.

Seems like it, even if “TashaB” is a person, I don’t feel a person hired for customer service chat has insight, shares the same opinion or speaks for the CEOs, Board members and other executives at AT&T.
I also don’t feel that any of those individuals will offer much direct influence or direction to Kevin Tsujihara, let alone Walter Hamada.
Time Warner still exists, WB still exists, the same people still work there, they just have new ownership.

Though I partially agree with you, they are acquiring the whole conglomerate (for lack of a better term right now) for $85.4 BILLION …you can bet your A$$ that they are going to have SOME input or pull on how things get handled of their newly acquired investment

Yeah, but that input is NOT going to be “Make a Superman movie!”
It’s going to be strategic input at the executive level of Time Warner, not operational input at the studio level. It’s literally 3 strategic levels removed from from that decision making process.

Hopefully at the comic.con we should get two credible updates. 1. A superman sequel and 2. It will finally be put to rest whether or not a Snyder cut of JL is legit. Personally I hope for both BUT I will take number 1 over any other announcements, anytime!

When is the Teen Choice Awards, and what channel is it on? Is it Disney? Nickelodeon?

I hope that there will be a reboot instead of a sequel. The best thing for Superman movies right now is a fresh start, with a new actor to play the part of Superman. Cavill is a good actor, but I just don’t see him as Superman. Hopefully they will announce a reboot at the next comic con.
