HBO Max “Val-Zod” Project Lands Writers Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters

According to Deadline.com, Michael B. Jordan’s “Val-Zod” project for HBO Max has landed writers Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters to pen the story for the HBO Max adaptation.

Jordan’s Outlier Society is producing the project about an alternate version of Superman for DC Entertainment and Warner Bros Television.

Set on “Earth 2” of the DC Multiverse, Val Zod is a black Kryptonian who, like Kal-El, found refuge on earth.

Metayer & Peters have written for many film and television projects, including “American Snow,” “The Nola” and “Hannibal”.

It’s remains unclear whether Michael B. Jordan will star in the project, but he will be an executive producer alongside Elizabeth Raposo. No release date has been announced as yet.

I’m looking forward to this one. I’ve always kinda wanted to see Jordan as Steel, but we’ll always have Shaq.

Where was this news during DCFandome??? A few days after the DCFandome event, Tom Welling talked about the animated SMALLVILLE series he’s working on, now this. There was hardly any news about season two of Superman and Lois. Yeah they showed a behind the scenes look at the Kent farm, but that was pretty much it. Not one hint about season two. Last year they dedicated like 10 minutes to talk about season one. But not this year. They didn’t even have any Superman related movie news.
