Couple of things about S2. Lester cut……I thought the beginning of Lester’s was much better. But that was about it. The Donner cut window jump was ridiculous. Donner cut had the 3 villains portrayed as being much more nasty and Lester version mellowed them out. Almost a bit comedic at times. The outstanding feature in Donner’s was Jor-el scene with Clark. But in watching them both, you can definitely see the differences in how each director wanted them to come across. They both have their good and bad points.
I agree about the beginning of Lester Cut. Even though some have said an elevator exploding in space shouldn’t be able to open the Phantom Zone but a nuclear warhead could. I think the portrayal and escape from the PZ in this film series is absurd anyway. It’s a flying mirror in space. And why in the world would it happen to be soaring past the Earth at either of those specific moments?
