General Zod Through The Years – Costume Evolution

Artist Alexandre Séquard was kind enough to send us an exclusive look at his artwork showing the different interpretations of General Zod’s costume, from his first publication in Adventure Comics #283 (April 1961) through to today, across comic books, animated adventures and in live-action films.

Alex explains, “This is all the different versions of General Zod’s look from his creation to the most recent, and through the comics, cartoons, TV series and films. The 3 designs on the far right are alternative versions of the character.”

Visit Alexandre Séquard’s DeviantArt page for more of his fantastic art.

Are they missing the one from Season two of Supergirl and the one from Krypton?

Interesting to see them all put side by side like that. I don’t think Zod has had many good designs over the years. But I gotta say the Donner one is still the one that works for me most. Followed by the 6th one from the left. I also dig the one from Justice League Action but the absence of a beard bugs me.

He forget this issue where Red Robin (Jason Todd) and them go to another earth and Zod was Superman. it was in Countdown to Final Crisis if I’m not mistaken.
