As many fans know, in 1966 Superman starred in his own Broadway musical comedy, “It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman!”, starring Bob Holiday as the Man of Steel.
In the early 1970s, Bob Holiday was called upon to play Superman one more time, for Aqua Velva, an aftershave which often used famous men in their commercials. The commercial was lost to the world for decades… but now you can watch it online via SupermanBobHoliday.com.
They even got Jackson Beck, known for announcing on the Superman radio show and in the Filmation cartoon show, to do the closing narration…wild!
I love Bob Holiday. He clearly enjoyed being Superman and is quite the lad.
The commercial was very fun but I couldn’t help but think that Superman wearing cologne would actually be a bad idea because it would mean he and Clark Kent smell the same. lol
