Free Pet Adoptions: “Superman” Campaign Saves Lives This July

Warner Bros. Discovery partners with Best Friends Animal Society to cover adoption fees ahead of new Superman film

Pet lovers have a super opportunity to save lives this month. In celebration of the upcoming “Superman” movie hitting theaters July 11, Warner Bros. Discovery is covering all pet adoption fees from July 1-10 at Best Friends Animal Society locations and select network partners.

The campaign draws inspiration from Superman’s loyal companion Krypto the Superdog, encouraging potential pet parents to find their own heroic sidekick. With a dog or cat killed in American shelters every 90 seconds due to overcrowding, the initiative addresses a critical need for more adoptive homes.

“Just like Superman has Krypto the Superdog, your sidekick is out there ready to fly with you on all of life’s adventures,” the campaign states, emphasizing how adoption creates life-changing bonds for both pets and families.

The free adoption period runs through July 10, giving animal lovers a 10-day window to become everyday heroes. Interested adopters can find participating locations and learn more about available pets through Best Friends Animal Society’s website.

With thousands of homeless pets awaiting their forever families, this Superman-inspired campaign offers both entertainment fans and animal advocates a chance to make a real difference—proving that sometimes the most super power is simply opening your heart and home.
