First Look – “Superman #19”

Before part one of “The Truth” hits shelves next Wednesday in Superman #18, DC Comics is allowing us to share this moment from part two in January’s Superman #19.

Pour one out for The Daily Planet. Art credits are Ivan Reis, Joe Prado and Alex Sinclair.

Next week we find out The Truth, and after that we find out the consequences …

What happens the day after Superman reveals his secret identity to the world? And what repercussions will his decision have across the entire DC Universe?

Because Bendis hungers, ruining Marvel 2 years ago wasn’t enough.
Batman fans are suffering with us at least, what Tom King has done is worse

I can’t even begin to describe my distaste of this idea and I was someone who defended New 52’s “Truth”. The whole approach here is wrong and comes off as terribly disingenuous, like a silly stunt. The timing for this is wrong as well. I don’t read month-by-month, I usually wait for single storylines to conclude, but I think I’ll skip this whole mess as it is.

It was dumb then and it’s dumb now. But I agree that’s the best thing to do. Don’t buy this thing just for the sake of keeping up. Many wallets slamming shut is a sound DC is more likely to listen to.

That Daily Planet pic might be the perferct metaphor for what too often seems to be the modern comicbook writer mentality, make your mark by showing off what you can tear down.
