The CW has given us our first look at Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor from an upcoming episode of “Supergirl”.
The photo shows Lex Luthor, arms folded, peering out the door of his maximum-security cell.
Jon Cryer will make his debut on “Supergirl” in episode 15 of the current season. The episode will be titled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”, and will air on The CW on Sunday, March 17.
Lex Luthor reaches out from prison to enlist Lena (Katie McGrath) into one of his plans and will stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends.
Well I’ll say this, I barely recognized him there.
The beard helps. I’ll give him a chance because in all honesty he’ll probably still be better than Jesse Eisenberg.
Eisenberg was like watching Jim Carrey’s Edward Nigma as Lex Luthor.
He does have a scary look about him. I think this could work.
At least that casting made sense! THey should have just made him the riddler and called it a day. At least we’d still have a real luthor to look forward to.
Sorry… but nothing was as bad as Carrey was in that role. A total buffoon. So you didn’t like Eisenberg as LL but at least his role wasn’t down graded,…. just a different version.
It gives him something…extra…to add to the role and may also show a different way of playing Luthor.
He’s got the look for sure. Certainly not a part of “Two and a Half Men!”
He looks legit. I’ve been saying people need to give him a chance. Who knows he may just pleasantly surprise folks. Like for instance Ben Affleck as Batman. Everyone complained about that and when it was all said and done people loved the Batfleck. So I say to LexCryer “Suit up” and leave that seagule, red Mohawk behind and embrace the baldness. Can’t wait!
Wow. I’m convinced he will make a fantastic job. He barely looks recognisable. It’s always a matter of getting used to actors who used to play a lot of comedy and getting serious roles all of a sudden. Michael Keaton, Tom Hanks, Ashton Kutcher, Jim Carrey are just a few examples. And they all wind up wowing us with their performances.
So all we are missing now is Jor-el, Lara,Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent, Perry White, and Metropolis then we will have a new Superman series.
Well ….for ten years during Smallville we saw them pilfer everything they could from previous Superman movies. I guess we’ll watch them do it again.
