Fan Made Christopher Reeve/Helen Slater Movie Scene

Superman fan Aaron Price from A Price Production has painstakingly put together a fan edit of a scene involving Supergirl (Helen Slater) saying farewell to her cousin Superman (Christopher Reeve), which he imagines could have been inserted at the end of the 1984 film.

“Sadly, as many know, Christopher Reeve dropped out of the film, just before filming began, which meant we never got the chance to see his Superman and her Supergirl on screen together.”

“So using my skills, I’ve done a little editing and tried to play the end scene, like an alternate reality where Reeve did appear in the film. Ending with Supergirl saying goodbye to her cousin.”

“When I thought about doing this, I wanted to use Superman III, but found there wasn’t enough suitable shots to make it work. Superman IV suffered a similar problem. Though I do use a back shot of Reeve from Superman IV in this.”

“I eventually went with using the deleted balcony scene from Superman II instead. I know that Chris would have looked a bit more mature if he had been in Supergirl. However it’s nice to think what could have been. Lighting changes in places, which will always be an issue between clips.”

“Some of the audio clips are a little rough, as it was tricky to find the right tone and audio clips to fit the scene. No doubt had this originally happened in the film, the dialogue between both of them, would have been more emotional. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little alternate reality fantasy clip I put together. Feel free to like, comment and share!”

This is a great fan edit. Thank you to Aaron Price and Price Production for giving us a glimpse of what it would’ve been like if Reeve’s Superman met Slater’s Supergirl. I always felt that it was a missed opportunity that Chris and Helen never played Superman and Supergirl in screen together. Just like how Reeve’s Superman and Keaton’s Batman never appeared on screen togeather. This is definitely a treasure to watch. 🙂

I completely agree with you, Superman2878! I always wanted to see Reeve’s Superman & Helen’s Supergirl to appear on screen together as well as Reeve’s Superman & Keaton’s Batman appear on screen together. The closest thing we got was Reeve’s cameo in Keaton’s film “Speechless” (which is now hard to find on YouTube).

Totally agree with you GodzillaofSteel! 🙂
And I think I remember the scene from the movie speechless. If I remember correctly, Keaton’s character was talking to Reeve’s character about dentel issues I think.
