On the afternoon of Saturday, June 9, the third and busiest day of the Superman Celebration, I had the good fortune of being able to sit down for a 10 minute chat with Brandon Routh, the star of the 2006 movie “Superman Returns”.
With his parents in the room with us, Brandon introduced me to them, and I was pleasantly surprised when his mother reacted with delight when she heard the name “Superman Homepage”.
Brandon and I spoke about filming “Superman Returns” in Sydney, Australia, how he first broke the news to his parents of winning the role, the work that went in to getting into shape for the part, and his thoughts on the recent Henry Cavill Superman movies.
A huge thank you to Jordan and Scotty, Brandon’s people, who helped make the interview possible. And also to my “camera man” Phil Spearpoint (from the UK), who managed to keep the camera steady even though he was so nervous about being in the same room as Brandon Routh.
Steve, this is fantastic! Great job on the interview, and – as always – Brandon Routh seems like a stand-up guy and is definitely a terrific interviewee.
