I was fortunate to receive an invite to the private VIP Lounge at the Entertainment Earth booth. I was given access to the top of their two-story booth where I could relax, enjoy some snacks, take in some incredible views from above the show floor and check out their products.
I was greeted by two gentlemen who gave me a swag bag upon entering. They were very excited to pose for me as I took their picture. I’m sure they were just as tired as I was, but they had a great attitude.
The top of the booth had tables set up and there were a good amount of people occupying them. Some were relaxing, some were waiting for a chance to check out the products.
While I waited for my turn, I helped myself to their refreshments. It may not seem like much, but after hours upon hours of walking inside and outside of the San Diego Convention Center, these snacks and cold beverages rivaled the nectar of the Gods. Plus, they were cold!
The view from the top of the two-story booth was amazing. It’s rare that you get to see the Convention Center show floor from up above. I got a few good shots from my table. I could see the Boom! Studios booth and the Marvel Comics Booth across from me.
I was surprised at how many people were inside the Convention Center. As you walk the floor, you don’t really get a sense of how crowded it really is. I was glad to see that all these people were able to make the journey to the San Diego Comic-Con.
Once the product table was available, I had a chance to check out the items offered by Entertainment Earth. There was a good selection of bags, key chains, toys, and action figures.
They had a lot of really cool items, but there was one item that I was there specifically for:
The DC MULTIVERSE LEX LUTHOR POWER SUIT figure from McFarlane Toys.
This gorgeous 7 inch scale figure is based off the DC Rebirth Lex Luthor. His blue power suit has the SUPERMAN S-Shield on his chest and includes the signature heroic red cape.
Lex Luthor was designed with “Ultra Articulation” with up to 22 moving parts so you can pose him as you like, or if you’re like me, you’ll have a full range of moves for when you take him out of the box and play with him.
The figure comes with a flight stand and base. Inside is a collectable art card with the picture of Lex on the front and a character biography on the back.
I can’t tell you how excited I was to see this Lex Luthor figure in all his heroic glory. If you want to purchase one, they are currently only available as a TARGET Exclusive. Entertainment Earth only had a small reserve available at the convention, it’s not available on their website, so you’ll need to go to TARGET’s online store to order yours.
I have always been a fan of Lex Luthor, and I loved the way Dan Jurgens wrote him in ACTION COMICS during REBIRTH back in 2016. In fact, one of my favorite images of Lex is from ACTION COMICS #957, the first issue of the REBIRTH brand, where he saves the day and tells us he’s got everything under control.
That concludes my visit to the Entertainment Earth VIP Lounge at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. I hope to return next year and hopefully they’ll have more SUPERMAN related merchandise. Although, it’s going to be hard to top this LEX LUTHOR POWER SUIT figure.
