There’s a moment in the extended trailer for the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover recently released in which we see a very familiar image of Lois lamenting the death of Superman.
While Lois is clearly played by Elizabeth Tulloch, the Superman laying dead in front of her does not look like Tyler Hoechlin, and it is not Brandon Routh.
Speculation is that this is a Superman and Lois from a different multiversal Earth… With some suggesting this Superman is portrayed by one-time “Superboy” actor Gerard Christopher.
The one thing we do know from this sequence is that this Superman wasn’t killed by Doomsday but Lex Luthor.
“Crisis on Infinite Earths” will begin with Part 1 – “Supergirl” on Sunday, December 8 at 8.00pm ET/PT, Part 2 – “Batwoman” on Monday, December 9 at 8.00pm ET/PT, Part 3 – “The Flash” on Tuesday, December 10 at 8.00pm ET/PT, Part 4 – “Arrow” on Tuesday, January 14 at 8.00pm ET/PT and Part 5 – “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” on Tuesday, January 14 at 9.00pm ET/PT.
Well one thing is for certain, this only adds on to the mystery of what’s going to happen in this crossover, and that Brandon’s, Tom’s,and Tyler’s Superman are safe for now.
I think that his boots look different from Tyler’s. I don’t see any sign of the cape straps from this angle, and his right arm looks to be like it’s missing a sleeve. His insignia looks different from Tyler’s I think. I don’t see any evidence of those tiny little bars at the sides of the S emblem. The belt looks the same as Tyler’s though. the biggest difference is the arrowverse has yet to have Supergirl or Superman or anyone with a cape have an emblem on it. The only recent tv show that showed Superman’s cape with the S shield was Krypton. Hmmm… I wonder if that is the earth the cancelled Syfy series was from.

Since there are three confirmed Superman actors in this crossover, and from the looks of this picture a possible fourth actor possibly being Gerard Christopher, I have to ask, will there be more Superman actors to show up as Superman that they haven’t revealed yet? Like a surprise perhaps?

I can kinda see where people might be getting that it’s Gerard Christopher but it could also just be a unknown actor with black hair. I guess they at some point go to an Earth where Lex has managed to kill Superman. ..maybe it’s THAT Earth’s Lex Jon Cryer is playing in that scene with the Monitor we saw recently rather than the Earth 38 Lex? I’m saying that because it mentions that he disappears into thin air.
What if it’s the actor who played the stand in for Superman in Supergirl season one or the stunt double who was Henry’s stand in for the movie Shazam?
Yeah that superman doesnt have Tyler’s cape clasp. See why can’t they make Tyler’s cape like that lol?
Hopefully they will fix that when they start production on the Superman and Lois series.

I like the rebirth/reborn look from the comics. I hope that they decide to incorporate that look for the series.

Personally, I’d been hoping they’d talk John Newton back into the suit ever since the Superman Classic shorts, but I think he’s almost completely out of acting now.

It’s not a cape, but a banner. Like “Superman Day” has been a recurring trope in various media since at least the third season of the 50s show did an episode around “Superman Week”.
