“Death of Superman” and “Reign of the Supermen” Coming to Theaters

Fathom Events, Warner Bros and DC invite you to a premiere event when Reign of the Supermen comes to cinemas nationwide for a special two-day event! The action-packed event will include two features, audiences will first see The Death of Superman followed by the brand-new release of Reign of the Supermen. The two-part film is an animated adaptation of “The Death of Superman,” DC’s landmark 1992-93 comic phenomenon, and features an all-star voice cast led by Jerry O’Connell (Carter, Stand By Me), Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, The Librarians) and Rainn Wilson (The Office, The Meg) as the voices of Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively.

“Superman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time, and this double feature event will give fans an opportunity to come together to celebrate the franchise,” Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said. “We are excited to partner with Warner Bros. again to bring back The Death of Superman and introduce fans to Reign of the Supermen.”

Home Entertainment Vice President, Family & Animation Marketing. “The Death of Superman was a monumental moment in comics history, and these films – expertly produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC – capture the enormity of that story in terms of both action and emotion. Seeing both films, on the big screen, gives the fans another vehicle to unite and celebrate this beloved superhero and this landmark tale.”

The double-feature presentation of The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen will take place across the USA on January 13 and 14, 2019. Tickets are available through Fandango.com.

“Reign of the Supermen” will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack ($39.99 SRP) and Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP) as well as on Digital ($19.99 HD, $14.99 SD). The Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc in 4K with HDR and a Blu-ray disc featuring the film; the Blu-ray Combo Pack features the film in hi-definition. The Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Combo Pack include a digital version of the film.

Possibly, and I hope so, but it’s kinda tough to tell as it’s only 1 showing for each day (at least around me). This could be more of a marketing stunt instead of a lot of commercials.

Still, I really liked the sound design of DoS…hearing it on a theater’s pro speaker system would be a real treat.
