Yeah I’m not a fan of how they’ve portrayed the characters either. I miss the original version of the series. I really liked the animation in that version. The animation in this series, in my opinion just doesn’t look right to me. And I don’t like how they have portrayed Superman in this series. He’s too selfish,self centered, vain, and childish in these cartoons. He’s just too egotistical to be Superman.

I’ve only seen a few episodes but is he supposed to be SupeMAN in these or is he Superboy and they’re doing a thing of having him be cocky in his youth?

Unfortunately they have him depicted as Superman. Green Lantern received a text from him, and his phone said the message was from Superman. If he went by the name Superboy, it would make more sense on how he’s depicted in these cartoons I feel. Unfortunately that’s not the case. 🙁

Hrrm. I mean I get ok this is the Superhero Girls show and they want it to be fun for their target audience and that’s fine. I don’t begrudge that.
But I’m not sure what about doing that necessitates presenting Superman as a vain jerk. I also get that it’s a comedy for the most part but Superman being jerk isn’t actually funny it’s just disappointing and feels like contempt.

Yeah. I couldn’t agree more. It’s to bad that they’ve decided to go this route in depicting Superman’s character. I can’t help but feel that this cartoon is making fun of Superman fans as well as Superman.

The graphics and styling of these cartoons is pretty cool but I really dislike the way they portray the characters. They come off as petty and immature. That’s not who these characters have ever been historically and I don’t find them funny. And I think I actually have a pretty good sense of humor, too. 😀
