“DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes” a Huge Success

DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes

While Superman fans lamented the lack of content for their favorite superhero, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment claimed a big win with “DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes,” with the online global event on August 22 DC generating 22 million views across 220 countries and territories over its 24-hour run, via the in-house player, livestreams by comic book influencers and other content generated by fans watching the event.

According to Variety.com, DC FanDome trended on Twitter in 53 markets, and on YouTube in 82 markets.

The rest of the DC FanDome presentation, dubbed “Explore the Multiverse,” will now debut on September 12 as an on-demand event, with all panels and programming going live at once, allowing viewers to curate their own experience over another 24-hour period.

In terms of amount of viewers who watched the program, yes it was a success. For Superman fans, I wouldn’t say so. We barely had any Superman content. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will get more news for upcoming Superman projects.

I was left unimpressed with FanDome. Way too much self congratulatory segments. Aside from the Batman preview and Wonder Woman chat/preview, it seemed forced to me. Hopefully Part 2 will be better organized.
