DC Comics Teases Upcoming “Death Metal” Superman Story

Death Metal

DC Comics has released a teaser image for Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s upcoming Superman comic book story.

“Mic Check, Mic Check… 1, 2. 3… The band is tuning up. Get ready for the encore! The mayhem in imminent!”

The writer and artist duo are teaming up for what appears to be a sequel to the “Dark Knights: Metal” saga.

The image shows a long-haired Superman with one arm wrapped in a red bandage, while the other, which appears to be disfigured, is holding a strap or knuckle weapon. Superman’s costume is torn, with a chain wrapped around his waist.

While little is known about this project at this point in time, the image DC sent out was labelled “Death Metal,” the same hashtag used by Capullo late last week on Twitter.

Back in August 2019 Greg Capullo announced via Twitter he’d signed a new contract with DC Comics, revealing he would be teaming up with Scott Snyder once again on what he called their “biggest adventure yet!”

Look for a full announcement to be released on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

Superman: “ I can’t believe it’s not butter!”

Lol, but in all seriousness, I never thought I’d see Superman with long hair again……

He needs a haircut.

DC: How can we appeal to the kids?

Capullo: By doubling down on dark and gritty and creating a line of books themed after the least popular subgenre of a style of music that hasn’t been popular since before they were born… Death Metal!!
