Eh, the new belt design still looks awkward but I kind of like the way this artists for the cover of Action Comics draws it compared to the first pics we saw. Really don’t get the decision to have to buckle poking out of the top like that.

Agreed, but it’s the closest thing to the classic/iconic suit. Really glad to see the red boots back! Aside from the buckle, which I think floats higher than the belt to have some semblance to Man of Steel suit, I think that this is a happy medium between the trunks and trunkless looks!

That’s basically how I felt about the Smallville Season 11 costume. But even there I would take the v shape belt and make it a standard shape with a classic round buckle instead of repeating the shield shape which I’ve always found visually redundant.

A new reader to Superman comics & great they are too. I’ve bought most back issues & taken out a subscription for both Superman Rebirth & Action Comics. Do the books go on for a period of yrs?

Action Comics technically has been running since 1938. Most american superhero comics run on what’s called on “ongoing” basis which means they don’t end unless they get canceled due to sagging sales or the publishing company purposely decides to start the next storyline for the character with a new issue no.1 But when you have something running for as long as Superman has with different creators and editors in and out you’re gonna get variances in the idea of the character over time and that’s before getting to things like reboots or what’s been going on in the titles lately.… Read more »
