John Diggle

SPOILER ALERT! This article talks about the ramifications of the most recent episode of “Superman & Lois”. Titled “All Is Lost,” the episode sets things up for the final two episodes of Season 2.

Speaking about the episode, show-runner Todd Helbing told TV Guide, “We kind of went crazy with the spectacle.”

The stakes are high, with Ally Allston now able to drain the lifeforce from anyone she comes close to, Superman is completely drained, and only survives thanks to a timely save from Natalie Irons in her new armored suit.

“That forces everybody else to step up.” Helbing teases. “He literally can’t do anything.”

Whether Superman will regain his powers before the Season 2 finale is being kept secret. Although Helbing has stated that fans will find out just how “Superman & Lois” fits in to the wide “Arrowverse” of shows on The CW.

In the finale, we’re told that Sam Lane “mentions [things] where you’re gonna be like. ‘Wait, what?’ And then he gives a speech that is very clear. You learn everything from him.” adds Helbing. “General Lane has the most inspirational grandfather/father moment that he’s had so far in the series.”

Helbing also confirmed that David Ramsey’s John Diggle will return for the season finale, setting things up for the future. “That [scene] is to tee up our big bad for Season 3.”
