According to KryptonSite, Daniel Cudmore has been cast in a villainous guest role for an upcoming episode of “Superman & Lois”.
Playing a character named Subjekt-11, Cudmore, who is best known for playing Colossus in the X-Men movies, once auditioned for the role of Superman for “Superman Returns,” which ultimately went to Brandon Routh.
Subjekt-11 is described as “Strong and stoic” and “a brute with a mysterious mission”.
Comic book fans might recall a character by a similar name called Subjekt-17, who was a hulking monster kept in stasis in a Soviet lab, who was experimented on to further their biological defense program. The character first appeared in “Superman #655” (October, 2006).
I like where this is going. This means Superman will be facing some physical challenges to overcome. This is looking great for the show. 😀
Me too. But remember….this is still a CW show. There will always be a Dawson’s Creek type drama within hehehehe
Yeah, but as long as Superman gets to shine in his show the other stuff won’t bother me so much. 🙂
Yep too true. I actually like Daniel cudmore. He’s a decent enough actor to pull this role off.
Interesting that he auditioned for Superman at one point. Can’t wait to see what he brings for his character.
For many actors who auditioned it was a missed opportunity to expand their Hollywood career. Then there would be the issue of typecasting and contractual obligation to play the charachters for some 10 years. Including cameos. Chris Reeve surely didn’t want to cling on to the role for the rest of his career. He wanted to make several other stuff while staying faithful to the roll that made him a household name. Sean Connery did well on his own outside the James Bond franchise
True. Sean Connery did go on to play the role of Ramirez from the Highlander series. Although I could not picture actors Brandon Fraser, Matt Leblanc, or Nicolas Cage in the role of Superman. Maybe Josh Harnett if he had been willing to play the part. Wasn’t Jude Law offered the role at one point? I believe that actor Jim Caviezel would’ve made an excellent Superman earlier in his career. I feel that evidence of that is shown in the movie Count of Monte Christo. The scene where he says “I’m count not a saint.” The acting and the lighting… Read more »
