J'onn J'onzz is now a being of Oan Green Lantern energy. He and John Stewart are among those fighting Darkseid. Batman has taken a Kryptonite blade in the chest to save Superman. Lobo has finished his job for the Justice League, allowing Wonder Woman to decapitate him. The Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League have joined forces to combat Darkseid. However, they may be too late. The tyrannical ruler of Apokolips has launched Boom Nukes through Boom Tubes that will send them to various points in the universe. This could turn all that exists into an intergalactic wasteland.

Hal Jordan has used his Green Lantern powers to redirect the Boom Nukes directly at Darkseid, and J'onn has helped Batman heal. With ol' Stoneface defeated, Lobo can finally stand trial. Apokolips has now been recognized as New Oa, home of the Green Lantern Corps, which will be run by a council led by Hal and John. J'onn J'onzz cannot leave New Oa as he is part of its core. This does not stop him from being part of the next phase of the Justice League in which Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman discuss its future as the Justice League Universal.

5Story - 5: This issue's ending is one that's long overdue for the Justice League. It really should have been universal back when they began back in The Brave and The Bold #28, especially when one considers all the otherworldly villains they've taken on over the years. This series may be a conclusion to a serial. Yet it serves as a new beginning for the team, one that possibly leads into what Bendis has done in the main series. It's a pretty satisfying ending to a fun comic. However, I don't think we've seen the last of Darkseid or any of the other New Gods. We'll see if I'm right in future DC publications.

5Art - 5: Every page is drawn in a way that will blow the readers' mind. Miguel Mendonca has proven he's capable of rendering images of epic proportions. His Darkseid is especially incredible. If DC does not give him a Fourth World related title, they're sincerely doing a disservice to him and the characters in that part of the DC Universe.

4Cover Art - 4: Faces in the foreground look strange in what is otherwise a well drawn main cover.

5Variant Cover Art - 5: Chip Zdarsky really should do more interior art if covers like this are any indication of what he can do with the League in this one.
