Jimmy, on a motorcycle, saves a kid from a fire and speeds off, only to find Bizarro Supergirl (who Jimmy says has caused "Doomsday-level damage).

Kara is in her soundproof room. She knows something is out in the city, but isn't sure if she wants to know what.

At the Daily Planet, Lana sees images as they come in from Jimmy's camera, and sends copies to Kara. She calls Kara on the phone and encourages her to deal with the situation and stop moping. Cat Grant overhears the conversation.

Kara goes into a closet full of memorabilia from the past to get her costume.

Jimmy wakes up next to Gangbuster, a prisoner of Bizarro Supergirl.

The kid Jimmy saved tries to get Kara's attention as she flies overhead, but some creepy cop takes him through a magic door. (?)

Supergirl arrives just as Bizarrogirl has taken an interest in Jimmy, and they fight. Kara discovers Bizarrogirl doesn't want her ship damaged, so she threatens to damage it unless Bizarrogirl lets the prisoners go.

Bizarrogirl then uses some new vision power on Kara, and through dubious logic indeed Jimmy deduces it's a power that turns people "completely solid" because that's somehow the opposite of x-ray vision.

5Story - 5: This was a great start to a new arc, I only wish the book's history led me to believe it could sustain this level of quality.

I DO think Jimmy used some pretty dubious logic to figure out what Bizarrogirl's vision power was (especially when he could have just LOOKED at Kara to see what had happened to her), and I don't really know how to feel about "turning people into lead vision". At least, that's what I surmise has happened here. But wouldn't making Kara invisible to Bizarro's be the opposite? Or something? It just strikes me as... weird. I know, I know, this is a BIZARRO, but even still.

This is why I've never liked the odd "opposite powers" Bizarros developed a few years back. Are they SUPER-VULNERABLE? Do they have extra crappy hearing? Are they extra slow? Do they travel underground? Etc.

But all of that is neither here nor there.

Those things aside, we've got good setup and forward motion, so here's hoping it's finally sustained through an entire arc. A promising start indeed.

4Art - 4: I'm really torn on the splash on page 14. On the one hand it's a classic pose from a classic Superman cover, and it's really cool to see it used for Kara in a nice moment.

On the other hand it's always been an incredibly goofy pose, and it's never looked goofier than it does here. There's a bit of love/hate going on, I suppose.

Otherwise, though, it's enjoyable if not mind-blowing art.

4Cover Art - 4: Another totally awesome cover.

FIGHTER JETS!

And another cover that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the issue at hand.

FIGHTER JETS?

I don't even know what to say, folks.

...fighter jets.
