The Demolition Team have been hired to destroy what will one day become Star Towers. The construction site is taking a major beating and watching from a nearby rooftop are two fledgling superheroes, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. The plan is, take down the Demolition Team, impress the League and join them on their adventures, cashing in along the way.

A great idea but while they are bickering the League arrive.

Ted decides they ought to 'help' and prove they are invaluable to the League, however their efforts seem to go a little awry and instead of helping the League they help the bad guys get away!

Naturally the League are more than a little hacked off. The comedic duo don't seem to be hitting the League's funny bones. Wonder Woman is shocked they are only in the business of money and fame. Batman is his usual frosty self and Green Lantern comes down on them hard, lecturing them on responsibility.

Blue Beetle reveals he was able to track one of the villains and leads the League to the hideout. This time the team works like peanut butter and jelly and the takedown is quick and easy. However, before the duo can gloat about the victory, Batman has a few choice words. This was an unnecessary mission that could have ended when it started, if they hadn't interfered.

Naturally they don't really hear what Bruce is actually saying and decide that until the seven are ready to expand their ranks they'll freelance 1-800 SUPERDUDES!

Wonder Woman and Batman watch the immature heroes and wonder if they were ever as carefree as them and if one day the League might be ready for such additions...

What do you think?

5Story - 5: Keith Giffen delivers pure gold.

More please! How could they even contemplate the end of this title?

Seriously this was so fun, I wish it had been animated!

The background on why The Demolition Team were doing what they were doing was a bit vague, but who cares? This issue reminded me why I love comic books.

5Art - 5: The artwork this issue was just superb.

Booster and Ted never really got to shine in JLU during its run and the book hasn't really ever given them the spotlight, big mistake. The character designs are fluidly integrated with the established and gel really well. I hope they feature a little more!

I think instead of Batman's The Brave & The Bold this duo should have their own show! Who's with me?

4Cover Art - 4: Awww its so heart warming to see the League smiling...

OK it's a dream but it makes a change - usually it's the villains sporting Jokeresque smiles.

Hope Christopher Jones' work continues its fantastic style in future JLU books!
