Casting Call for Big Budget Superman Fan Film

Superman vs Doomsday

A big budget Superman fan film is looking for actors to audition for the major roles of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane.

Titled “Superman vs Doomsday,” the fan film will be shot this year in Vancouver. Executive Producer and Director Morgan Strebler told the Superman Homepage, “I will be shooting in a lot of the Smallville locations, including the Kent Farm and Main Street of Smallville. I will also be shooting in familiar locations around Vancouver for Metropolis such as the Daily Planet.”

Both roles are paid roles, as this fan film plans to have a million dollar budget.

Roles already cast include Aaron Smolinski (Superman: The Movie, Superman III, Man of Steel) as Lex Luthor, and Stan Houston (Selma) as General Lane, while other well known actors have been cast in cameo roles.

Actors interested in auditioning for the parts of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane can submit audition requests to morgan@morganstrebler.com. Please attach a headshot or photo of yourself as well as a video stating your name, height, age, and where you’re from. Selected candidates will get a chance to read from the script for the director and other members of the film crew.

I am hoping that we get a lot of Superman fan films this year. I like seeing fans make their own Superman movies.

What do you consider to be bug budget?

Also if they changed this to a Calvin Ellis movie then I would be a lock.

I hope this doesn’t end up like Star Trek fan films. Axanar was a crowd funded project, but CBS sued and now all Stat Trek fan films have restrictions placed on them. Maybe Warner bros might not be so worried about a fan film looking better than a tv show or a movie. But I’d love to see this this film.

Peace Whoga

I hope that it doesn’t have any bad luck as well Whogaman. Maybe it will have the same kind of successful luck that the Star Wars Theory Guy’s Vader fan film has on YouTube. I hear it’s very good. If I misspelled his name or got it wrong I sincerely apologize.

Good god…this is ridiculous. Are you trying to tell me that the WB/DC would give anybody the rights to do something like this?? We can’t get the real deal so now we have to settle on a fan based film??? And considering that these movies costs are between $150 and $200mil when done properly, what is a big budget fan based film supposed to be?? A mill, half a mill?? And again with the Doomsday angle. This is turning into irrelevance.

I wonder if this fan film will cover the reign of the Supermen as well.

The movie will most likely be far more faithful to the characters and source material than what we see on the silver screen.
