In the latest Superman Homepage Member Poll we asked you the following question:
What was the best Superman-related TV show (animated or live-action) of the 2010-2019 decade?
Now in its fifth season, with a sixth already announced, “Supergirl” emerged victorious as the No. 1 choice amongst fans in this poll. I was almost certain “Young Justice” (which came in second) would have been the winner.

In my opinion the best Superman-related tv series of the last decade (2010-2019) was Krypton. If you really want to get technical with me though I will definitely have to say Smallville! Even though it did not start nor have the majority of its run during the last decade it was in fact still around and in the making with the second half of it’s ninth season in airing in 2010 and it’s entire tenth (final) season airing from 2010-2011). Also let’s not forget about it’s brief return segment in Crisis on Infinite Earths where that particular scene aired in… Read more »
Alphas was a good show
The accent thing is just doesn’t even register to me anymore. I’ve noticed that the “queen’s english” is the go to accent for just about anywhere that isn’t America. In Spartacus they all had it, the movie Troy, any number of space movies.
I would not consider both Smallville or Krypton anything Superman other than a slight parallel as what’s coming at some future time.
I voted for Supergirl because I like Melissa in the role. I’m glad to see that there are other fans who enjoy it as well. I do agree that they should not have politics or political views on the show. I ignore that part because I’m only interested in seeing Supergirl stop the villains and save the day. Supergirl and Superman should not involve political views or political agendas because I believe it divides fans, and such political beliefs for these characters should remain unknown. That way the fans can decide for themselves on what they believe Supergirl’s and Superman’s… Read more »
Melissa Benoist is great in the part of Supergirl but I prefer Helen Slater. I would have loved to her team up with Christopher Reeve. I hate that he did not make an appearance in her film. However I did think it was cool when they said Superman was on a mission off planet. They finally gave him intergalactic missions. As for Brandon Routh getting his own Superman series or film I’d gladly advocate with you on that as I was absolutely mesmerized by his return. I was like now this is Superman! Nevertheless I doubt it very much that… Read more »
Brandon Routh for Superman.
Can’t argue against that. 🙂
The only thing good about the Supergirl movie was Slater’s look. Other than that the movies was horrendously bad from the beginning to the end. An appearance by CR would not have improved it one iota.
I never said the Supergirl film was great. I’ll admit it had several things that could have been improved. My biggest problem with the film was the villain witch lady and the whole school thing not to mention the theme song. There were plenty of things about it I loved too. Besides at least the film was clean and kid friendly unlike the current series/Arrowverse. I’m not like most people. I love every Superman/DC Comics related film and tv series and I mean everything. Sure I have my favorites and I’m willing to recognize problems when due but nevertheless regardless… Read more »
The only thing that could have improved SG was to have it never been made.
Is Superman even in half these shows?
I’m giving it to Justice League Action just for having the best Superman himself out of any of them.
He shows up on Supergirl’s show from time to time, and on crossovers. He will be getting his own show soon. 🙂
I have that entire JL series. If you go back and watch it they totally under used Superman and made him a second fiddle character in many of the episodes. But I agree with you regarding the choices and his appearance.
