Behind-the-Scenes on How They Made Superman Fly

Cinemoves Incorporated has shared a few behind-the-scenes videos on how they shot some of the flying sequences in the new “Superman” movie.

“We used lots of different tools throughout. It was a blast using #theartofcameramovement to help make the flying scenes as believable as possible. In this scene we double teamed with our #cinergyetv and #lightcraftdrone. I gotta admit I had a big grin on my face the whole time I was driving.”

“Great example of the #scorpio45 arc compensation software and the #matrix4axisgimbal 360 nodal roll working together. We also used our nose mount battery kit that allows us to remove the cable umbilical. Great when you’re working around Stunt cables.”

“It was a blast coming up with rigs to help sell the flying. This one was a fun challenge. #modtruss became my favorite new rigging tool. 3rd image shows how many of the collaborations between DOP Henry Braham and I would start. A concrete floor and a piece of chalk. Cut to a double rotating dolly pull back rig. aka ‘double spinny rig’.”
