Odd, but expected. A double-dip (is it 12-15th dip?) in time for the latest film with these characters: Justice League.

I wonder if what special features, if any, will be on this that is brand new or old. For something like this, there is one thing I would want to happen, but never will: an uncut version of Batman Forever, the director’s cut that might’ve changed how things went with the Batman Films back then.

Will we get the features from the Superman set released years back?

Questions that won’t be answered until later.

Superman II Donner Cut? Appreciative effort but unwatchable.

i like the donner cut, especially how they updated brando and some of the visuals, plus lost footage/test footage. i think it’s well done

I liked both the theatrical and Donner cut of Superman 2, but I think I like Donner’s version just a little bit more. It’s because of the scenes with Jor-el and the alternate final confrontation scene at the fortress. Also the ending where superman had turned time around so that Zod and his minions were back in the Phantom zone. I think it made better sense then the memory erasing kiss power he used on Lois to make her forget his secret identity. But that’s just my opinion. They’re both good though.

Greatest theme song ever.

Eh, I prefer the blu-ray Superman anthology from 2011. Gave you both versions of Superman 2. I’m grateful the Donner version exists, but including the screen tests where Reeves had multiple hairdos and different glasses destroys it for me every time. Every. Time.

Would have thought this would have been released around the time Batman v Superman came, but I digress. What I really want to see is a 40th anniversary blu-ray for Superman: The Movie next year. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think the process to restore the movie for the current blu-ray was all that in-depth, and I think they could do a better job. For anyone who owns the Jaws blu-ray, and the process they went through to restore that movie, that’s what I’m talking about. If they want to do the same for Superman II as… Read more »

When will WB come to reason and release a BluRay of the 1984 ABC (US) Cut of Superman II? The true, definitive version of the film!

Ironically, after I posted that, it was announced they were releasing through Warner Archive the extended TV cut of the first film. My hope springs eternal!

The Christopher Reeve Superman Symbol is the best version of Superman’s insignia in my opinion. It’s soo cool that they put it on the cover of the blue ray case.

I’m not talking about the quality of the show or actor, that’s for another thread, but to my mind, John Newton in the first season of Superboy had the best ever live-action costume and S shield.

New to the boards (sort of). Hello everyone. I joined the board to let you know that Warner Archive is officially releasing the 3 hour TV cut of “Superman The Movie”…which will be known as ‘Superman The Movie: Extended Cut’ — it will be in a package with the Superman the Movie Special Edition. Here is a link to the Warner Archive facebook page:
