Assemble Your 1955 Kellogg’s “Dangle-Dandies” Superman

In 1955, at the height of the popularity of the “Adventures of Superman” TV series, the Kellogg’s cereal company, who were sponsoring the show, included a series of “Dangle-Dandies” on packs of Corn Flakes and Rice Krispies.

The series of mobiles included Clarabell the clown, a Pirate, Skull, Tony The Tiger, Mr. Bluster, and Indian, and Howdy Doody, with Superman the central (and undoubtably most popular) figure to collect.

These “new fun-mobile decorations… they twist, they turn… more fun than a circus!” were printed in color on the back of the cereal boxes. The Superman figure consisted of four pieces which, when connected together, measured approximately 7 x 7.5 inches.
