David Harewood, who plays Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onzz on the “Supergirl” TV series, posted the following photo on Instagram this morning, showing himself in a group shot with Jeremy Jordan (Winn), Chyler Leigh (Alex) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), along with somebody called “Dean” photobombing in the background.
Is this an old photo or could this mean that Tyler is coming back for another appearance as Superman for an upcoming episode of “Supergirl”?
With Tyler in the Superman costume, it could be assumed that the other actors are also in costume. If that’s the case, I looked back at footage from the two episodes that Tyler appeared as Superman from the beginning of this season of “Supergirl”, and in none of the scenes from those episodes is Winn wearing the shirt we see him in in this photo.
You’ll recall that The CW President Mark Pedowitz told EW.com at the Television Critics Association’s press tour back in January that, “There are no plans at the moment for him to return [to Supergirl]. If they wish to have him return, we’d love to have him.”
I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
Update: David Harewood has confirmed via Twitter that this is an old photo. So no Tyler Hoechlin in upcoming episodes.
I truly hope Tyler returns as Superman for at least one more episode. He was great. I’d love to see him come back as the classic version of Clark Kent/Superman. I’m crossing my fingers.

Yes please. More Superman. Great moment on last week’s episode where SuperGirl uses all her strength to prevent that ship from escaping Earth’s orbit.

Yes, please! I really liked Tyler as Superman. Wouldn’t be weird if he got his own show? LOL, A Superman TV show, being spun-off of a Supergirl one. Like, Bizarro-world television?
Let it happen & also a Superman tv series based on the Superman we all love. A tv series in similar fashion to Supergirl less the Snyder production.
Not sure this season is as good as last but inclusion of Superman in 1st two episodes was great!
Old photo or not, it would be awesome if Superman shows up at some point in the Supergirl TV show. Maybe Season 3, if not season 2. I want more team-ups! I really like tone of the Supergirl and The Flash TV shows much better than the DC universe movies.
I know it’s been confirmed as old by now, but I wish we’d get a new Superman show. What I’m not sure about is getting a new Superman show from these same people, which is the opposite of what I thought at the beginning of Season 2.
But alas, Season 2 continued and now I’m just unsure.
