Alternate “Justice League” Trailer, Screen Caps and “Superman: The Movie” Tribute

Earlier today Warner Bros. Pictures released the final trailer for the “Justice League” film (you’ll find it posted at the bottom of this news item). The studio also posted a slightly different version of the trailer on Instagram.

Check out the new trailer and see #JusticeLeague in theaters November 17.

In the trailer Henry Cavill and Amy Adams are seen together in what appears to be a dream sequence experienced by Lois Lane. Here are a gallery of images from that portion of the trailers…

This sequence appears to be a tribute to “Superman: The Movie”. When juxtaposed with the scene from the 1978 film in which a young Clark Kent tells Martha he needs to head north, we can see certain interesting elements. Where the corn is yellow and still short in “Superman: The Movie”, in “Justice League” the corn is green and fully grown. Sunrise as opposed to sunset. Same red and black jacket. Same sort of camera angle.

Interestingly, Henry Cavill appears to have worn this very jacket when on a recent secret visit to the Forbidden Planet comic book store in London.

“Justice League” will be released to theaters on November 17, 2017.

Same. I really thought they nailed the emotion.

Henry’s wearing a shirt not a jacket but yeah the plaid may be a callback ..and no, Clark Kent should never have a handle bar mustache.

Aquaman is starting to strike as a more metalhead version of the one from the Brave and The Bold cartoon. “We shall call this adventure, that time I tore s**t up with a bunch of other heroes! Yeah!”

Wow… a JL trailer that made me feel something. I’m impressed.

And every time I see Jason as Aquaman, all I can see is Lobo. Dang, he’d be perfect for that.

. I agree with you 100% on that one. But I brought up the Brave and The Bold cartoon just as an example of a boisterous take on Aquaman being something that can actually work. Not saying I necessarily have faith in WB to pull it off but it’s just my impression of the vibe they might be going for.

I agree about the emotional beat with Clark and Lois but it also makes me wish that the whole Death/Return thing was something happening in Superman’s own movies and had been built up to properly.

Oh, I agree – it can work well for Aquaman, certainly. Just that his hair and demeanor really remind me of Lobo. lol

Also totally agree on the second point. I’m REALLY hoping they don’t try to shove a wedding into this movie – because that’d be Snyder’s way of “licking all the food so nobody else will eat it”. lol

The beginning was awesome…. Then the CGI festival started and made it look like a video game

So far, I’m “All out!” 🙁

I love the Trinity feel of the trailers. Trailer one starts with Batman, Trailer 2 with Wonder Woman. And it comes full circle with this trailer.
Brilliantly done.
