“Action Comics #1000” Summit Comics & Games Exclusive George Perez Variant

Artist George Perez is another artist to create an exclusive variant cover for the landmark “Action Comics #1000” issue.

With “Action Comics” speeding toward its landmark 1,000th issue on Superman’s 80th anniversary (April 18), not only will we see a series of variant covers capturing the look and feel of the Man of Steel throughout different eras of his 80-year run, but certain comic book stores will also have their own exclusive variant covers available in limited numbers.

This variant cover showing Superman flying above Metropolis is exclusive to Summit Comics & Games, which has the cover available to order via its Facebook page, limited to 2,500 copies.

Action Comics 1000…. now with 1000 variant covers.

Sorry, but this is not even remotely worthy of the name George Perez. It’s borderline looks like a caricature artist job.

“Hey… look… Bob was walking in the park and this guy drew his giant head on a Superman body for $10”

So for Action Comics 1000… George Perez… the man who has drawn some of the most beautiful Superman covers in history… comes out with this.

The inker must’ve been my 5 year old and my wife didn’t tell me.

Well, I could quibble about his head looking a little large to but really other than that I think it’s a fine George Perez piece. Looks better than a lot of covers on the stands right now.

IIRC Perez has battled some medical issues recently so I’m just glad one of the masters is still with us and still drawing.
