A Superman Short Story by Scott Kurtz and Karl Kerschl

Superman

A 5-page short story about Superman is now available to read online thanks to writer Scott Kurtz and artist Karl Kerschl.

Karl Kerschl explains, “In 2013, Scott Kurtz (the brilliant and hilarious author of PvP and Table Titans, among other things) tweeted randomly that he had written a short Superman story. He asked if anyone wanted to take a crack at illustrating it. I said yes. Scott sent me his short script and it was great. It captured the simplicity and positivity that I always long for in a Superman story, and it was only five pages long! I started drawing it in my spare time and finally got around to finishing it eight years later.”

Presented as a work of fan-fiction (i.e. not commissioned by or published by DC Comics), you can read the Superman 5-page short story at KarlKerschl.com.

I enjoyed Scott Kurtz and Karl Kerschl’s “Superman” short story very much. It truly captured the essence of who the Man of Steel is.

This was a very nice little short story. I really enjoyed it. I would gladly read this 500 times over seeing the “Injustice” animated movie. This is a 5-page classic of Superman greatness. It should become a scene in an upcoming Superman movie (live-action or animated).

If DC was smart they would buy this story and get those two jobs as Superman writers and artists. Would love to see what they could do with a full comic book.
